Greenport Harbor Brewing Company
Just when you thought the town of Greenport couldn’t get any cooler someone goes and starts a brewery.
I had heard about Greenport Harbor Brewing Company but didn’t think it was open yet. I drove by last weekend to see how things were coming and, well, see for yourself:

In the tasting room you can taste beer, and buy pint glasses, tee shirts, bumper stickers…
First impressions: The beer (3 ales the day I was there) is excellent, and co-founder Richard Vandenburgh (in the doorway above) is an enthusiastic and gracious host. I expect good things to come.

Oh fantastic! I am a native Long Islander, too — but now exiled to Northern NJ. Our family has a bayfront house in Southold and we’ll be out this weekend — I’m going to check out this brewery. This is the building that used to house the Carousel, when my kids were really little — then it moved to the block that the movie theater is on, and now has its own (and I think really ugly) home, but I used to love this location — there were footsteps on the pavement to bring you there — or was it carousel horse stencils? i’ll have to ask my kids!

Hello, I am loving Long Island! From East Marion, the next village over.
If you are free this Saturday, there will be an opening reception at the GHBC 7:30 to 9:30 of my ship doodles. I love your photos of the Brewery. How are you? All well? Hope so. Nice to hear from you, Christina. I posted this on the Loving Long Island Facebook page. I’d love to go, but I can’t make it. There’s too much going on here (2 families staying with me). East Marion? How’d you end up there from NYC?
