The Long Island Maritime Museum
This is one of my favorite haunts. Rain or shine you can frequently find me here checking out the boats.
Am I obsessed? Maybe, but it has been said that some men can look at boats in ways that make women jealous.

that museum is one of my favorites too; the “shed” has a collection of wooden boats that rivals clayton, ny’s antique boat museum . . . AND it’s all long island focused. this reminds me it has been almost 2 years since i stopped by. do they still do the boat burning. some find it heartless; i think it’s downright viking!

The LIMM is just about 2 miles from my house, could it get any better? If you decide to come visit, let me know and I’ll meet you there.
I love the boat burning! I do sometimes feel bad for the boats though. Clayton is a great place place. I haven’t been there myself, but a friend of mine a real fan of the place.
Before the shed became the small craft building it was a giant boat junk shop. They had all sorts of cool stuff there for very reasonable prices. I think most of it came from the old Bluepoints company building right next door. What they did with it all I do not know.

Better she’s jealous of a boat than an actual other woman
