Moving to Long Island
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell others how much you love LI. We are moving there this summer due to my husbands job transfer and everywhere I look online are people complaining about Long Island.
Your site is refreshing and has made me SO excited to get there! I know it will be a great experience for my family and I look forward to exploring!
Thanks!

Heather,
You are going to love Long Island in the summer! Make sure you hit all the great places they mention here. We moved 30 years ago and I still get homesick reading about all the things I somehow missed!
Have fun,
Mary

Heather,
You will find alot of complainers. They’re probably the same people who move from LI and still read Newsday and complain about it! LOL!
We lived on LI for about 14 years and love it. There’s so much to do and see right here. We have beautiful beaches, great museums, shopping, etc. There’s so many natural areas that I’m still exploring. I never get tired of exploring all that LI has to offer.
Welcome and I know you’ll love it here!

Heather,
I just came across this great site and your post. I hope by now you’re settled in your new home, and are loving all that Long Island has to offer. Hope the recent storms haven’t scared you too much. I’ve lived in Massapequa for 24 years, and this past March was the first time we ever lost power (for four days!) due to that crazy weekend storm.
What town do you live in?

Heather,
I do not live on the Island any more, but if you take advantage of all it has to offer…you will love it. When winter sets in, the beach is a wonderful place for solitude and beautiful nature scenes.
A lot of my friends, who still live there, complain and when I ask them what they are doing, it is obvious they are missing out on the beach, the parks, the city, the list goes on.
Hope you fall in love with a very special place.
Best of Luck,
Joe Killian
