Beautiful Jones Beach Documentary
Jones Beach: A American Riviera is a beautiful documentary written by George P. Pozderec and narrated by Eli Wallach.
In 30 way too short minutes George and Eli take us from conception to completion of one of America’s greatest landmarks. Vintage images, music, film footage and in-depth interviews make this film watchable over and over again.
I highly recommend it.

this sound so interesting…I am always looking for things that tell me about “how it was” …
sometimes it is really hard to figure out what kind of life there was on Long Island before, unless you know lot of people and sometimes old people.
I got very excited finding out old pictures of Rocky Point, Wading River and Shoreham from the North Shore Public Library internet archive – amazing!you really can see that this was the American version of our Portofino or Capri.

Marianna, if you get a chance you/everyone should watch this movie. It’s available at any Suffolk County Library (If your library doesn’t have a copy they’ll get it for you from another library).
