Halloween Boat Burning

Just a quick post with some pictures from the annual Halloween boat burning at the Long Island Maritime Museum.

I Ate a Naked Man’s Oysters

I really did, at the Long Island Maritime Museum’s annual seafood festival.

Blue Island Shellfish Farms was a sponsor and they served up Naked Cowboy Oysters all day long for only 1$ each.

Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum

Nestled in among the quaint shops and lovely restaurants in the picturesque town of Cold Spring Harbor you will find the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, an attraction that is definitely worth a visit.

Its rooms are filled with wonderful artifacts that tell the tale of the fascinating history of Cold Spring Harbor’s early ties to the whaling industry as well as the unique maritime heritage of Long Island.

This is one of my favorite haunts. Rain or shine you can frequently find me here checking out the boats.
