Fall Colors on Long Island

Filed under: Fall by Bill @ 6:45 am

The trees are starting to change color, a sure sign that summer is leaving us and fall is leading the inevitable march towards winter. I spotted this tree on Saturday and it really took me by surprise.

I thought it was too early for this, but nope, September is when the trees start changing color on Long Island. The colors will grow more intense in weeks coming and will be past their peak by about mid October. Keep your eyes open and don’t miss any of it.

  1. Yep, that’s the first tree (Union x 111)! I shot it about a week-and-a-half ago when there was just a little spot of color…wasn’t impressed with my shot and thought I’d wait til it was a prettier shot – like yours! Funny we’d notice the same tree 🙂

  2. I was thinking of you when I took that picture. I waited a few days to see if you were going to use it on 365 days. I finally posted it when I realized you were probably too busy lurking in dark alleys to notice any trees 🙂

I not happy with the shot itself, I just wanted to be the first mention something about fall colors.
